Three Tenors at the Zurich Opera

An early summer tour to the picturesque city of Zurich. Our tour includes performances of Donizetti’s Poliuto, starring up-and-coming tenor Vittorio Grigolo in the title role, and an unmissable Gala with Jonas Kaufmann, which will include excerpts from some of the most popular operas. There is also the option to see Il re Pastore with Rolando Villazón, as well as the chance to relax and enjoy the tranquil Swiss scenery.

Itinerary
Fri 11 May Afternoon arrival in Zurich and transfer to the 4-star Hotel Europe, next door to the Opera House. Afternoon at leisure before the evening performance.

Sat 12 May Join your guide for a walking tour of Zurich’s old town around the Limmat river. See St Peter’s church boasting the largest clock face in Europe, the Fraumünster with windows by Chagall and Giacometti, and walk over Bahnhofstrasse beneath which are bank vaults crammed with gold and silver. The tour will be followed by a welcome lunch in a local restaurant, and the afternoon free for further exploration. Optional evening performance at the Opera.

Sun 13 May Today we make an excursion to the charming town of Zug, nestled in the Alps. From there we transfer to lunch in a local restaurant before continuing on to Einseideln. Here we make a tour of the Benedictine Monastery which features stunning baroque decoration. Return to Zurich for the evening performance.

Mon 14 May Morning free for independent sightseeing. Afternoon transfer to Zurich airport for your homeward flight.
