We return to sparkling New York to catch Bartlett Sher’s new production of Rossini’s Le Comte Ory, starring Juan Diego Flòrez, Joyce DiDonato and Diana Damrau. This is complemented by the revival of R Strauss’ Capriccio, with Renée Fleming singing lead role, and of course the iconic city itself!


Wed 13 Apr Afternoon arrival in New York and transfer to the stylish Warwick Hotel in mid-town Manhattan, close to the Museum of Modern Art and Carnegie Hall. Enjoy a welcome drink and light snacks in the hotel or a local restaurant.

Thu 14 Apr This morning join your guide for a musical tour of Manhattan. Focussing on the Upper West Side, we will visit sites including the houses of Bernstein, John Lennon, Duke Ellington and Caruso. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon at leisure. Transfer to the Metropolitan Opera for your evening performance.

Fri 15 Apr This morning return to The Metropolitan Opera for a backstage tour and a chance to breathe in the atmosphere, behind the scenes. You will be accompanied by a singer from The Met who will be able to answer any questions about life in this great house. Lunch in a local restaurant, before the afternoon at leisure. Transfer to the Metropolitan Opera for your evening performance.

Sat 16 Apr Full day at leisure to choose your activities from the endless list of museums and attractions in the city which never sleeps. Optional evening performance.

Sun 17 Apr Morning at leisure. Enjoy a farewell brunch, New York style, before heading uptown to the Cloisters, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. We continue to the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, the mother church of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, before transferring to the airport for your homeward flight.
