The chance to experience a backstage tour, to enjoy a New Year’s Eve Gala dinner in the Opera House and the crisp winter atmosphere of this beautiful city adds to the festivities.


Wed 29 Dec Afternoon arrival in Zurich and transfer to the 4-star boutique Hotel Ambassador, next door to the Opera House. Welcome drink in the hotel before the optional evening performance.

Thu 30 Dec Join your guide for a walking tour of Zurich’s old town around the Limmat river. Admire the alleyways, courtyards and houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. See St Peter’s church boasting the largest clock face in Europe, the Fraumünster with windows by Chagall and Giacometti, and walk over Bahnhofstrasse beneath which are bank vaults crammed with gold and silver. Lunch in a local restaurant. The afternoon is free for further exploration. Evening performance at the Opera.

Fri 31 Dec Today we return to the Opera for a backstage tour, to breathe in the atmosphere behind the scenes. Afternoon at leisure. Evening performance, followed by a New Year’s Eve Gala dinner in the Opera House.

Sat 1 Jan Morning free for independent sightseeing. Afternoon transfer to Zurich airport for your homeward flight.
