Opera and Bridge in Prague

Picturesque Prague is our destination for a new tour which offers you the chance to play bridge with your fellow travellers as well as enjoying opera in the sumptuous theatres of the city. Our short break combines two afternoon bridge sessions, performances in the State Opera and the Theatre of the Estates, and sightseeing to help you make the most of your holiday.

Thu 28 Jun Early afternoon arrival in Prague and transfer to the 5-star Hotel Paris situated in the Old Town. Afternoon to settle in before a welcome dinner in the hotel.

Fri 29 Jun This morning join your guide for a walking tour of the Old Town with architectural styles ranging from the Gothic Tyn Church to the coloured facades of Romanesque town houses. Admire the charming astronomical clock on the Town Hall with an hourly procession of the 12 Apostles. We continue on to the Theatre of Estates where a backstage tour is arranged to gain an insight into the theatre where Mozart premiered Don Giovanni in 1787.This afternoon the first of your optional bridge sessions will take place in the hotel. Evening performance at the State Opera.

Sat 30 Jun Today we visit Prague’s Castle district. Overlooking the city, the complex is the largest ancient castle in the world. Visit St Vitus’ Cathedral where King Wenceslas is entombed, the Vladislav Hall of the Old Royal Palace, and Golden Lane. Lunch is arranged in a local restaurant following the tour. Return to the hotel for your optional afternoon bridge session. Evening performance at the Theatre of the Estates.

Sun 1 Jul Morning at leisure for last-minute shopping and sightseeing. In the afternoon transfer to Prague airport for your homeward flight.
