
Tue 12 Jun Afternoon arrival in Budapest and transfer to the 5-star Sofitel Hotel Budapest, with spectacular views of the famous Chain Bridge and a prime location near the River Danube, Hungarian Parliament and Castle District in downtown Budapest. A light lunch will be served on arrival, followed by an evening at leisure. In the evening transfer to the Palace of Arts for the first performance in the cycle.
Wed 13 Jun Join your guide for a morning tour of Budapest, including the Museum of Zoltan Kodály and a visit to St Stephen’s Basilica, containing the Hungarians’ most revered relic: the mummified right hand of Hungary’s first monarch, King Saint Stephen. In the afternoon transfer to the performance at the Palace of Arts.
Thu 14 Jun This morning we visit the Hungarian Parliament building for a visit of the spectacular interior. The tour continues in the Castle District and ends with a panoramic view of the city from the top of Gellert Hill. Afternoon and evening at leisure.
Fri 15 Jun Today your morning is free to make your own choice from the city’s attractions. In the afternoon transfer to the Palace of Arts for your third performance in the cycle.
Sat 16 Jun This morning we travel outside the city to Castle Grassalkovich in Gödöllő, the summer residence of Queen Elizabeth of Habsburg (wife of Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph) and the largest baroque castle in Hungary. We return to Budapest for an afternoon and evening at leisure.
Sun 17 Jun Morning at leisure before a farewell lunch at the world-renowned Gundel Restaurant in the city centre. Return to the hotel to freshen up before transferring to your last performance.
Mon 18 Jun Mid-morning transfer to airport for departure home.
