
Fri 25 May Today we take a morning walking tour of the historic city; the main streets and squares, lanes with colourful mosaics made of Rhine pebbles, and including a tour of the Gothic cathedral with its wealth of medieval treasures. Afternoon at leisure. Evening performance at the State Theatre.
Sat 26 May This morning we return to the theatre for a backstage tour, to breathe in the atmosphere behind the scenes. Afternoon at leisure before the early evening performance.
Sun 27 May Join your guide for a full-day excursion to the Black Forest. We arrive first at St Peter, where we will visit the baroque cathedral. Continuing on to Titisee you may choose to purchase one of the famous Black Forest cuckoo clocks! Lunch will be included at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we visit the largest original glacial lake of the Black Forest, the Schlucsee, where we enjoy a ride on the cable-car to experience the stunning views. Return to Freiburg for an evening at leisure.
Mon 28 May Free day to enjoy Freiburg at your leisure, before the mid-afternoon performance at the State Theatre.
Tue 29 May Today we take an excursion along the Baden wine route, taking in Burkheim and Breisach, which is notable for its St Stephans Cathedral with frescoes by Martin Schongauer, and an altar by Hans Loi, which is one of the most important examples of German carving. A walking tour of the town is also included, as is lunch in a local restaurant during the tour. We return to Freiburg via Ihringen, the warmest place in Germany! Evening at leisure.
Wed 30 May Day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing. Mid-afternoon performance at the State Theatre.
Thu 31 May Morning checkout and depart for the airport for your homeward flight.
