The eminent Royal Swedish Opera, founded by King Gustav III in 1771, hosts the performances on this spring tour to the serene city of Stockholm. A new production of Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades is joined by a traditional staging of Manon Lescaut, starring Inessa Galante. There is also the option to see the Opera's modern interpretation of La traviata on our tranquil journey to the north.

Itinerary
Wed 20 May Afternoon arrival in Stockholm and transfer to the 4-star Hotel Scandic Sergel Plaza, centrally located close to the Opera, the Old Town and the shopping districts. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Thu 21 May Morning guided tour of the city, built on 14 islands around one of Europe's best-preserved medieval city centres. We visit the Old Town (Gamla Stan), the Royal Castle and the City Hall where the Nobel Prize banquet is held. Lunch in a local restaurant. Afternoon free.
