Springtime in Vienna

A host of operatic stars gather at the Vienna State Opera this spring, for performances of two of Donizetti’s masterpieces. Anna Netrebko starts as her namesake in a new production of Anna Bolena, while Aleksandra Kurzak and Francesco Demuro portray the young lovers in L’elisir d’amore.

Itinerary
Thu 7 Apr Afternoon arrival in Vienna and transfer to the 4-star Imperial Riding School Hotel, centrally located near to the Belvedere Palace. Afternoon at leisure and welcome dinner in the hotel.

Fri 8 Apr Today join your guide for a walking classical city tour, ending at the Schönbrunn Palace, one of the most important cultural monuments in Vienna. Afternoon at leisure. Transfer to the State Opera for the evening performance.

Sat 9 Apr Today we set out for an excursion to Bratislava, in the neighbouring Slovak Republic. Arriving in Bratislava by hydrofoil, (a journey of approximately one hour), we visit the castle area with outstanding panoramic views across the city, and the historic city centre. Lunch is included in a local restaurant, before returning to Vienna with plenty of time to prepare for the evening performance at the State Opera.

Sun 10 Apr Morning at leisure, before a lunchtime transfer to the airport for your homeward journey.
